Ar. Nor'Azam Ahmad
Ir. Noor Zakhairi Nordin Aphandy
Nor'Azam Ahmad has more than 24 years of experience in architectural practice, design and construction management. He started his career with PETRONAS shortly after graduated from college under Petronas scolarship. He spent his early architectural career with a team responsible for the design and completion of the interior fit-out of the world tallest twin-tower. He then left the company to joint private sector with Architect Ismail Othman seeking for more challenges. He is an active person and has taken part in social activities and professional institutions where he has been appointed as a committee member of Malaysian Architects Association (PAM southern chapter) and as Council Member for Local Municipality. He has many years’ experience in dealing with government institutional masterplanning projects as well as public housing. He is now takes part in Monosist Architects & Engineers Sdn Bhd as Executive Director alongside his professional role in the company since its early formation in 2008.
Zak has over 30 years experience in Railway industry. His experience in rail projects covers accross multiple divisions from rolling stock maintenance, system interface, depot equipments, rail project planning and total turnkey solution. He started his career with Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) in 1981 as Rolling Stock maintenance Engineer and left the company in 1997 to joint Express Rail Link (ERL) for the implementation of total turkey concession. He was then expanding his capacity in rail industry by joining KL Monorail System Sdn Bhd where he was responsible for the design and procurement of Depot Equipments and planning. He extent his pursuits in railway engineering by joining some other major national rail projects such as the construction of North South Double Tracking, Fleet Expansion of Bombardier for Kelana Jaya Line, Fleet Expansion of KL Monorail System and other rail studies local and abroad.
Azman started off his architectural career with GDP Architects Sdn Bhd, Kuala Lumpur. At GDP, he spent his professional career on mega institutional developments such as Ministry of Finance, University Technology Mara and high rises. After about 10 successful years with GDP, he ventured off to Dublin, Ireland in 2006 to work with Sonas Group, Athlone, County West Meath based developer; actively developing housing and social-oriented projects in Europe. Back to Malaysia in 2009, he was engaged with the construction and supervision of Energy Commission Office, completed in 2010, in Putrajaya. The building was awarded the first green building in Malaysia with double certification (GBI platinum rating). Having involved in wide range of projects types and developments, and having done multiple collaboration with renowned architects such as Foster & Partners (London), Azman is now taking leaderships in technical and commercial areas of the company.
The firm started with small group of people sharing their experience and common interest in rail engineering and station architecture. In its early formation back in 2003, the firm had been commissioned to provide a comprehensive rail technical proposal.
Since then, the firm has participated in the preparation of various master plan studies and bid submission of several major rail projects local and abroad. The firm was then widens up its expertise and re-established its business as Monosist Design Group Sdn. Bhd. In 2007, Monosist Architects and Engineers Sdn Bhd. were formed combining multiple disciplines between architectural and rail engineering.
As a merit-based service oriented, the company is continually served and commissioned in its typical core architectural design business across multiple range of property sector as well as its niche market of rail-based sector by regular and new clients.
In rail-based sector, Monosist has been participated in preparing master planning and tender submissions, techno-feasibility studies and implementation of rail projects in Kuala Lumpur and several other cities across the globe such as Dubai UAE (Palm Jumeirah), Mumbai, Thane, Ludhiana and Bangalore, Riyadh and Makkah, Lagos Nigeria, Istanbul Turkey and Sao Paolo Brasil. In property sector, Monosist have now embarked into the design of multi-storey offices and residential high rises located at major cities in Malaysia.
Over the years, the Company has acquired a wide range of expertise in helping clients meet their engineering and operational goals and avoid costly design changes or delays in the design and implementation of the projects. Monosist has now established its new profesional architectural and engineering multi-diciplinary practice to provide a fully integrated solutions in answering clients need - efficient, elegant and pride.
MdNor Sulaiman
Azman M. Yusop
Background
Mohammad Nor bin Sulaiman (Mdnor) is an architect and the founder of Monosist. He has more than 24 years of experience in architectural industry. Apart from typical architectural works of commercial, residential, institutional and master planning, Mdnor has intensely engaged in rail projects. He was consistently on rail projects circle since 1995 having been completed 4 urban rail projects across different continents such as KL Monorail System and KL Monorail Fleet Expansion in Kuala Lumpur, Palm Jumeirah Monorail in Dubai and Mumbai Monorail in India. He also engaged in numerous international rail engineering studies and bid submission. Over the time, he has acquired specializations in rail planning, design and operation, bouncing ideas with other rail players while remains as the main leader of the architecture department, mastermind and driving force of the company.
Dato' Mohd Nazir Derani
Dato’ Mohd Nazir Derani has over 35 years of experiences in the project development, management and construction sector. He specialize in Design & Build projects, EPCC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction And Commissioning), conventional project, contracts and also Project Management Consulting (PMC). His expertise cover the whole stages in project development range from pre-construction stage (conceptual), construction stage (implementation), Testing & Commissioning, CCC and post construction stage (DLP). He obtained Master degree in Construction (M. Cons) in Australia and Civil Engineering from Malaysia and Japan and have been involved with various category of works and handling various job title and position. He has completed many projects from small to mega, government or public projects, including heavy chemical plants (Oil & Gas) over Malaysia. He is responsible for managing company’s contractual and technical ventures especially in turnkey and EPCC project undertaking.
